    April showers bring taxes?

Since many people took advantage of the low rates and refinanced last year it’s important to make sure you deduct any points and closing costs you might have paid on your tax returns.

For those who had to do a short sale last year or might need to this year, the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007 has been extended. This law enables struggling homeowners to avoid paying taxes on forgiven mortgage debt from short sales or loan modifications. The tax break was scheduled to expire in the 2012, but has been extended through 2013.

If you still have not yet filed your returns, have tax questions regarding your property, real estate investments, or just need a good accountant call Al Adovasio of Adovasio Financial 508-461-4939. Al does both individual, corporate, and partnership returns and can help with all of your accounting needs. See Al’s web site for more information http://www.adovasiofinancial.com
